Al Jazeera’s Hossain A. Khoury asked readers of a popular vegetable gardening magazine to suggest their favourites for growing in their garden.
We asked them to share their favourites and we have compiled a list of the top 10 vegetable gardens for 2018.
The Vegetarian Garden Guide (VEG) was published in 1996 by the International Vegetarian Society.
It has since become the bible of vegans and vegetarians, and has helped inspire generations of veg lovers.
According to the Vegetarian Institute, vegans have an average of seven children and have an even greater percentage of veggie parents.
For example, the number of vegetarian families in the UK is at almost 100,000.
In the United States, veggie gardeners have a higher proportion of children and their average age is slightly older.
And in the United Kingdom, veg gardeners are more likely to be women, while veggie families are more diverse.
The Vegetarians’ Guide to Vegetable Gardens for 2018 also includes information on a wide range of vegetable plants and plants that people might grow in their gardens.
