Italia striker Paulo Narsingh scored his first goal for his country in a 2-1 victory over Croatia on Tuesday.
Petr Cech was sent off for a foul on Narsingsh as Croatia took the lead through a goal from Cech.
Narsinghs first shot from the penalty spot was saved by Stefan Kieffer, before his second was blocked by the keeper.
It took a minute for Narsinger to get the ball to his feet as he ran towards the penalty area but was brought down by Croatian defender Stefan Nankovic.
His first goal since January 2018 was enough to send Croatia into the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
This was Narsingingh’s first appearance for Croatia since November 2014, when he scored the opening goal in their 3-0 win over Austria in the European Championship.
Croatia went on to win their opening game of the tournament in Poland on penalties against Germany.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic netted his third goal in five appearances for Croatia against Albania.
